      KINIGUIDE | Earlier this week, the Malaysian Consultative Council for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) voiced their concerns following reports that Islamic religious officers would be stationed in all government departments.

      They expressed unease regarding news from Sabah that officers from the Islamic Development Department (Jakim) would be placed in all government departments to ensure its decisions align with Islamic principles.

      As a result, the issue has sparked a debate, which supposedly stemmed from misunderstandings about Jakim's true function and role.
