Sewang - the Temiar tribe’s symbolic defence of the environment

An air of festivity filled an otherwise quiet Kelantan village of Kampung Kaloi, home to 22 Orang Asli households from the Temiar tribe on June 14.

Situated 37km from Gua Musang town, some 70 villagers were busy making preparations for the Sewang ceremony through gotong royong (community cleaning) amid the hot weather.
