MOH studying if Sinovac-Sinovac-Pfizer recipients need another shot
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says the ministry is studying if Sinovac recipients who received a Pfizer booster will need a second booster shot.
This is in light of a Yale University study that found those who were vaccinated this way had a lower immune response against the Omicron variant.

“We have received the news and our technical working group is studying the information obtained.
“They will submit proposals to the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) whether those who received two doses of the Sinovac vaccine and by a Pfizer booster will need one more dose.
"But it is too early for us to come to any conclusions," he told a press conference this morning.
Reuters reported today on a study that found those Sinovac recipients boosted with Pfizer produced an antibody response against Omicron that was similar to those who received a two-dose mRNA vaccine sans a booster.
The yet to be peer-reviewed study was by Yale researchers, the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Health and other unnamed institutions.
Last week, Reuters reported on a study from Hong Kong that found that even three doses of Sinovac did not produce enough antibodies against Omicron.
