Najib tapes: Cops spend close to 4hrs recording Latheefa, others' statements
A team from the Bukit Aman federal police headquarters are recording MACC chief commissioner Latheefa Koya's statement over the audio recordings of former premier Najib Abdul Razak's telephone conversations with regard to the 1MDB scandal.

Deputy commissioner Azam Baki is also those quizzed over the 1MDB-related audio recordings.
Police spent close to fours at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya, quizzing chief commissioner Latheefa Koya and six other officers, over the audio recordings involving former premier Najib Abdul Razak.
The team from the Bukit Aman CID's special investigations division also recorded statements from deputy commissioner Azam Baki.
According to a media statement this evening, MACC said all of them were questioned separately from 2.45pm until 6.30pm.
On Tuesday, a MACC officer had filed a police report alleging that there is a plot to discredit Latheefa after the release of the recordings.
The officer also furnished the police with the names of the alleged conspirators, which included several lawyers. Their identities were not revealed to the media.
On Jan 8, Latheefa held a press conference to disclose the recordings after tests confirmed the clips were authentic.
The recordings were Najib's telephone conversations between January and July 2016 regarding the 1MDB scandal.
In one clip, the former premier asked a United Arab Emirates prince for help to shield his stepson Riza Aziz from the US Department of Justice's scrutiny.
In another clip, former MACC chief Dzulkifli Ahmad is heard discussing the 1MDB investigation with Najib, his wife Rosmah Mansor and former Tabung Haji chairperson Abdul Azeez Rahim.
This was when Dzulkifli was still a deputy public prosecutor.
The third revelation was from a conversation between Najib and Rosmah, where the latter is heard raising her voice while doling out advice to her husband on the 1MDB issue.
MACC later lodged a police report and handed the recordings, which it claimed to have received from anonymous sources, to the police.
While Latheefa claimed that the recordings revealed an alleged conspiracy and abuse of power in relation to 1MDB, Najib, however, argued that the conversations vindicated him.
The former premier is also initiating contempt of court proceedings against the MACC chief.
Najib is currently on trial for a slew of charges over the 1MDB scandal.
