If we want to enter UK's university, we have to pass A Level, if we want to enter Malaysian public university, we need to pass SPM. That is the requirement. If we have a plan for our children to pursue their tertiary education at local public university, ask them to sit for SPM and not UEC. Why do we need to waste our money to enroll our children in private secondary school at the first place?Why can't all Malaysians go to 1 type of school and start to know each other from the tender age and grow up together?

In the best case scenario for Harapan, they are hoping that if their economic policies are successful, cost of living becomes a lot better, and the Malays are placated that the new government will look out for them too (and by then Najib's trials would be in full swing), then we can tackle UEC. In the worst case scenario, like KKS says, the UEC proponents have been played out. I would take a more positive view and will continue to do so as long as Harapan government listens to the people and make course corrections. We still have 4 years 3 months to go.
