PAS calls for probe on DAP's 'foreign funding'

He said the allegation that DAP has received funding from overseas sources has been circulating over the past few years, but to date no investigations have been done.
"If PAS can be investigated over claims it received RM90 million, there is no reason to prevent a similar investigation from being carried out on DAP.
"The (alleged) receipt of foreign funds by DAP is a violation of integrity and the law and can invite threats to the country's sovereignty," said Ahmad Fadhli when contacted by Malaysiakini today.
He was referring to an ongoing MACC probe into a 2017 claim made by whistle-blower website Sarawak Report that the PAS leadership had allegedly received RM90 million in return for supporting Umno and BN.
Fadhli, who is also Kelantan PAS Youth chief and Pasir Mas MP, was earlier at the Kota Bahru police district headquarters where a report was lodged against DAP on the alleged foreign funding.
The report was lodged by Kelantan PAS Youth member Mohd Suhaizi Kadir at 10am.
Elaborating further, Fadhli said an investigation on DAP must be carried out as DAP was part of the ruling coalition which formed the federal government.
'Open statement'
He told Malaysiakini: "[…] we want the police and the MACC to investigate DAP's accounts so it can be proven if they did not receive foreign funding as claimed."
He cited the 2016 allegation made by the then Penang chief minister’s former special officer, Mohamed Razali Abd Rahman, that DAP was offered RM1.2 billion (US$300 million) in return for permission to set-up an Israeli military base in Malaysia if the opposition managed to capture Putrajaya in the 13th general election in 2013.
Similar claims were also made by PAS research director Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki at the time.
"To date, DAP has not sued the individual (Razali), which makes it seem the allegation was accurate, and if DAP had received funds from Israel and the Jews, then we can surmise that DAP is cooperating with Israel and the Jews," he said.
This on top of the "open statement" by Washington-based International Republican Institute (IRI) president Daniel Twining that IRI allegedly was funding Harapan parties, he claimed.
Twining (below) last July had stated that his group had been working to “strengthen” opposition parties in Malaysia. The latter did not provide details on what that meant.
The IRI later denied it was helping the then opposition undermine BN prior to the last election in May, and pointed out that it worked with BN as well.
Recording a 'different matter'
Meanwhile, Federal Territories PAS Youth vice-chief Ubaid Abdul Akla said the party's act of lodging police reports against DAP was not linked to the purported audio recording of PAS central committee member Nik Abduh Nik Aziz talking about receiving RM2 million from Umno.
Instead, Ubaid said the act was prompted by the inaction of authorities after police reports were lodged back when it was revealed DAP had purportedly received RM1.2 billion in foreign funding.
The report was also based on the call by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang last night in Terengganu for authorities to act on DAP following the claim.
"I feel that (Nik Abduh's purported audio recording) is a different matter.
"Last night, the president claimed DAP also received (foreign) funding, so why not investigate DAP? [...] it is uncertain whether PAS (had allegedly received RM90 million)," he said when lodging a report at the Dang Wang district police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.
He was responding to a question if the police report was made after PAS' acknowledgement of the Nik Abduh recording which is linked to Sarawak Report's RM90 million claim.
According to Ubaid: "(DAP's) resources were obtained from other countries which could have their own agenda."
Some take Malaysians to be stupid or stupidly take Malaysians to be stupid. Whatever it is all abouts support and votes, blind or sighted. All has its root in the education system we enlarged and ensued. The correction has to come from improving the education system. I am putting my faith in the Mazlee, the new Edu Minister to act on it. So Malaysians are on a long road to correct the causes to have a first world society. Till then we have to put up with third world concerns, voting in politics to say the least.
