Source: 1MDB funds did not reach PAS' bank accounts
Authorities have established that no monies from 1MDB were channelled into PAS bank accounts, revealed a source.
The finding was made after MACC investigators scrutinised the Islamist party's banking details during their probe into a claim that PAS leaders allegedly received RM90 million from Umno.
Authorities have established that no monies from 1MDB were channelled into PAS bank accounts, revealed a source.
The finding was made after MACC investigators scrutinised the Islamist party's banking details during their probe into a claim that PAS leaders allegedly received RM90 million from Umno.
"(It was found that) there was no 'RM90 million' from 1MDB credited into PAS accounts," said the official close to the investigation.
According to the source, this conclusion was limited to bank accounts held by the party, and not individuals.
However, it has yet to be ascertained if MACC has finished scrutinising personal banking details of several PAS leaders who are also subject to the probe launched by MACC six days ago.
MACC's top brass and its official communications team did not respond to requests for updates on investigations.
It is learnt that MACC officials are tightlipped on the investigation because chief commissioner Shukri Abdull's said he doesn't want to fuel speculations on the matter.

The report, which MACC said was lodged by a member of the public, came after PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang agreed to settle out-of-court his defamation suit against whistle-blower website Sarawak Report.
He had sued the portal over its article alleging the Islamist party received RM90 million in return for its support of BN and Umno.
Hadi named Sarawak Report editor Claire Rewcastle-Brown in his libel suit filed in London on April 2017.
Since the probe started, MACC has reportedly recorded statements from several PAS leaders, including its central committee member Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, and former Bersih chairperson S Ambiga.

SR never said the party received money, it said PAS leaders were reckoned to have received money from Najib. Two different things.
Should have a dynamic MP as HM. Shows DOJ far superior than nincompos malusia.
MACC statement regarding the $90 million donation from UMNO is shocking. Its a clear reflection of thir poor investigative ability. Just because the 90 million did not go thru their accounts does not mean they did not received any money from UMNO. Is it not possible for the money to go thru private or relatives account without creating suspicions? Just trace how their leaders got money to buy luxurious cars, bungalows, moror cycles etc. The money could not have fallen from the sky. Its has to come from somewhere. This is where LHDN should question those who bought the luxurious items but LHDN is sleeping and doesnt do anything. About time they should change the whole LHDN staff.
