Dr M cites an 'orange' difference between Najib and his gov't

Najib Abdul Razak is hoping to gain sympathy by portraying himself as being oppressed by the current administration, according to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

However, Mahathir pointed out that the Najib administration was more oppressive, citing the MACC's orange-lock up outfit as an example.

"He is looking for sympathy. He claims to be oppressed but when he was prime minister, others had to don the orange outfit even before being charged.

"(Sabah Chief Minister) Shafie Apdal was not charged yet but had to wear the orange shirt. Others had to wear it too, but we gave leniency to him (Najib).

"He was charged months ago, (but) he is free (from imprisonment, but) creates all sorts of stories to get support," he told reporters in Cameron Highlands today.

Mahathir was responding to a question on Najib's new title as the "King of trolls" following his rising popularity on social media.

One of his recent works was a music video in which he rued about being ousted from power despite having fought for the people.

He also claimed to be the victim of lies and slander.

Najib had been implicated in the 1MDB scandal among others and is facing 38 criminal charges for abuse of power, corruption, and money laundering.

He has denied the allegations against him.

Its expected. Of course he has to create a fuss and drama here and there in or outside of the social media every day and night if he can to get or attract attention or to show he is still around. Get the bill to amend the law to do away with the death penalty passed in Parliament then bring Sirul back to tell the whole story then let see what will happen.

To govern well, with rule of law and a minimum of intellect, is what Msia is severely lacking of; the reverence and respect extended to the old dude is sadly misplaced.. how can you let the crook and criminal roam free, hang loose, blare and babble with nonsense everywhere, and with the greatest of contempt, undermining the administration, the government the rakyat has voted in? PH, you have only yourselves to blame for not being equal in your application of the rule of law. Why weren't Najib nor Rosmah made to don orange MACC garb? There are no good reasons to have not done so. The public were outraged at your own double standards, and failure to uphold a common standard that everyone else was subject to. Now, Najib claims he is innocent, and that there is no case for him to answer. His supporters claim that too. We demand he be brought in in orange garb for his next appearance. What is your excuse now?

Then why is the PH govt so stupid to exempt najib from wearing orange and to not expedite his criminal hearings?? The world believes in perceptions; if najib dons the orange outfit and is thrown into prison, his supporters will write najib off as a "has been", a historical figure dead and buried forever, metaphorically speaking. But najib is allowed to walk and roam around freely in style and to offer his half-baked views which creates the perception he could actually be returning to office! So if BN retains Cameron, the PH govt, Mahathir included, are solely to be blamed for bungling up in this war of perception of which najib is so good at. PH has all the right cards but doesn't know how to play the game well and now it has to pay for its sheer stupidity.

Perhaps it’s obvious now that the undeserving respect shown by the PH government and the prosecution towards the number one kleptocrat has backfired. Najib to the naive and gullible “dedak” programmed multitude is seen to be as clean as the formal suits and ties that he is attired in when in the dock. He knows his audience only too well after trapping them into his “ cash is King” syndrome. Najib now, in Camerons , is riding high on that wave of belief; that he is a political victim. PH, in a stupid act of kindness, with its poor judgement in this case, has given Najib the much needed ammunition and with it all the sympathy votes.
