The BN candidate is a turncoat along with the JHEOA. He should have been the IGP if not for the supremacist mentality of Umno. Does he NOT know that "The Malays were the Slavers and the Orang Asli were the Slaves - Negated History" .  Slavery, as practised in Malaya as well as in other parts of the world, involved rampant cruelty and injustice. Slaves were generally despised. They were kidnapped, sold, abused, raped, and killed. Some slaves were born into slavery, inheriting their parent’s enslavement. Slaves were deemed sub-human. Thus, common folks would not even want to carry out tasks that were affiliated to slaves. As a mid-sixteenth century record states, “You will not find a native Malay, however poor he be, who will lift on his own back his own things or those of another, however much he be paid for it. All their work is done by slaves.” Slaves owners on the hand are dignified and reputable. Malay chiefs would raid villages and rural settlement to hunt for their human commodity. Due to Islamic teaching that forbids enslaving fellow Muslims, the indigenous people, or Orang Asli, who weres labelled as ‘Sakai’ (slave) or ‘kafir’ (infidel) became the usual target. The Orang Asli were the “greatest local source of slaves”. Read it all here : https://www.7rangers.com/2019/01/the-malays-were-slavers-and-orang-asli.html

Lim Kit Siang is right about Ramli Mohd Nor being a failure. He represents a minority of Orang Asli who abandon the community which is non-Muslim by a great majority.

@Vgeorgemy, true pas members that remembers TGNA’s pesan, will not vote for umno. Most of those have switched to Amanah. @dsawmi, Malay slavery were picked up from arab trader culture when they converted enmasse from hindu or animism millennia ago.  No different from today’s fad or trend of giving up malay culture for arab ones. Same mentality. The only proof we will have is the archives P Ramlee’s movies in Singapore (the way malay dress and drink) tudungless mini skirts lol.

      Umar Muttaqi01:34 AM, 23 Jan 2019

I was most disappointed that the BN Orang Asli candidate did not partake in the televised debate. It was an opportunity for candidates to state their case why they should be chosen to represent Cameron Highlands. The 3 candidates were civilised and each had a  positive attitude and raised interesting and pertinent points. However, I feel Manogaran had a more comprehensive vision for Cameron Highlands and came across as sincere. He seemed to have a genuine sympathy for the Orang Asli. He committed himself to taking the State Government to court over Orang Asli land rights just as what the Federal Government is doing over the Temiar land rights in Kelantan. To my mind, the Orang Asli candidate Ramli failed his community by not taking part in this debate. It could only be interpreted arrogance, cowardice and presumption over previous support.BN it would appear has not changed despite being chucked out of office. UMNO made a huge blunder by allowing Najib to play a big part in campaigning. He represents the 'dedak', racist and corrupt culture which the people  already rejected.  The Orang Asli who may have voted for BN did so only due to vulnerability and poverty. Now that Pakatan Harapan is in power , there is hope for more respect and development for the true Bumiputera of Malaysia. There is simply no reason for vulnerable groups to support BN. I am now convinced it would be landslide victory for Pakatan Harapan.

BN stealing goods right under your noses, like a shop lifter carrying out a new microwave, yet the locals still love them. The absolute stupidity ...

After 60 years, what was done for orang asli? Only during elections and by-elections they come back to promise the sky, to BS them.. they think orang asli are as bodoh as them, or what? Throw them into cesspool for good!

      Ken Li05:41 PM, 23 Jan 2019

All the attention and goodies during the by-election is making constituents elsewhere envious.  Maybe even better than winning a lucky draw.  I wonder if anyone is day-dreaming of a by-election in his/her constituency.

      Justin Teoh05:07 PM, 23 Jan 2019

And Najib defends Muslim interest. All 4.3B of it.

      AHMAD NORDIN05:05 PM, 23 Jan 2019

Why would Manogran handle Islamic issues and problems ? Is there not a Ministry headed by a Muslim Minister responsible for it                                                                                   ls Najib running out of issues to raise ?

      Ooi Cheng Keat04:46 PM, 23 Jan 2019

      Tan Hoi Leong04:41 PM, 23 Jan 2019

Najib is sounded like PAS members are refusing to vote for BN as they considered UMNO as a sin party and looted the welfare of the Rakyat.

      Lam Yuet Kiew04:36 PM, 23 Jan 2019

Najib as PM can't even keep corruption out of Tabung Haji. There's no point having Muslims who only wear the religion on their sleeves to protect fellow Muslims but turn out to be completely hypocrites in their conduct. It's time for Malaysian Muslims to shift their thinking to what a clean and robust system of governance can do for every religious freedom and not just theirs.

      Stephen Leong04:36 PM, 23 Jan 2019

But Najib, you stole from the Malays and the Muslims. Nothing was sacred to you, pilfering even Tabung Haji coffers. So how is that protecting the Ummah? Actually, you seriously damaged the Ummah and almost made it impossible for the pilgrimage to be performed. You deserve a lengthy and miserable time in Sg Buluh.

      Francis Khoo HK04:32 PM, 23 Jan 2019

just look at the background poster behind Najib. On the left is the biggest kleptocracy in the world (this is one thing Malaysia can claim to be number 1, unfortunately ....), and on the right is the one that cause this very by-election due to his corrupt practice. How can the voters of CH be so blind to chose a BN candidate ????

      Unless KotaKinabalu04:28 PM, 23 Jan 2019

Najib, throw MIC, MCA and all other non Muslim parties out of BN.Oh, wait. They've all just about left the coalition. Only there in name now. You've calculated that umno and pas can win the next GE by just focusing on Malay-Muslim fear mongering and fanaticism. While you may have some initial victories, I am certain that you will be crushed at the next GE.
