As a supporter of the independence and integrity of the judicial system, I call on the DAP to take strongest possible disciplinary action against Gobind Singh Deo, for making politically irresponsible and childish statement in support of Abdul Gani Patail as the new AG.

DAP should reprimand him openly to set a good example and convince the world that there is no father-son cronyism and favouritism in the party.

I still cannot figure out why Gobind made that outrageous statement.

Doesn't he read newspapers and websites where protests are so widespread that his chairperson Lim Kit Siang even had to make a statement to oppose the appointment?

Who is Gobind Singh Deo to go against public opinion, and most importantly, against public position of his own party and chairperson?

There is no doubt that Gobind has abused his party position as the publicity secretary to issue that outrageous statement. What is the intention behind this?

DAP, besides taking disciplinary action, should investigate whether Gobind has a conflict of interest as both a lawyer and publicist of DAP.

DAP must convince all opposition supporters that no one in the party leadership should abuse his or her position to advance any personal agenda.
