Former Perak Menteri Besar Tajol Rosli has described Pakatan Rakyat's bid to hold an emergency sitting of the state assembly tomorrow as an unfair fight.

"The (planned) sitting tomorrow would be 21 to 28 (exco members). Where is the fairness? You are asking for us to go for a fight with our hands tied behind our backs.

"So we might as well stay back home," said Tajol, the Pengkala Hulu state representative, when met today.

State assembly speaker V Sivakumar had on Feb 27 called for the emergency sitting of the state assembly to move two motions tabled by Pakatan representatives.

The first motion is a vote of confidence for ousted Menteri Besar Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin while the second motion was to call for the dissolution of the state assembly.

To a question, Tajol said Pakatan's sole intention of calling for a state assembly tomorrow was to pave way for fresh polls in the state.

"They want us to go back to the people. I was calling for this since March last year. When they had 31 and we had 28, why didn't they dissolve the state assembly?

"Now we have 31 and they have 28, they want a fresh election. No way!" said Tajol.

Tajol stepped down as Perak Umno chief after Bota assemblyperson Nasaruddin Hashim's brief crossover to PKR.
