The recent toll hike shows a total lack of consideration for citizens. I agree that the toll rate is among the lowest, but has the government considered that our standard of living is way below those of the countries our toll rates are compared to? Notwithstanding there are many more tolls in the city compared with the suburbs.

Lots of items has risen during the past few years, and it is not the government policy to keep inflation and depreciation at bay. Stamp prices have risen, electricity rates increased, water tariffs hiked, petrol prices up, and toll rates, too. All these increasing costs of factors of production will increase the price of goods.

What's that I hear? Taxes have been reduced so we should not complain? But that applies to super-rich people where one or two percent makes a whole difference. What is two percent to a person earning RM2,000 a month?

But we can't blame the government totally; blame the rakyat themselves for voting more than 70 percent of BN MPs (in parliament). Thanks to that mandate, every sickening policy and regulation from the government is automatically approved.
