Extreme feminism destabilises family system
From a psychologist's perspective, women, like men are human beings and not saints. As such, some women and female could be as aggressive and oppressive as some men.
The only difference is that, male victims usually do not report their cases, or relate their experiences openly because they need to protect their dignity as fathers and leaders of the families and society. In this sense, male victims suffer more than female.
In many real-life cases which I came across as a professional counsellor, there are married women, especially urban professional and career women, who sleep around (often for career promotion and other material reasons) and they bring HIV and STD back to their innocent husbands.
However, in our society where feminist stereotypes against men prevail, it is often the husbands who get the blame for spreading HIV and STD. The onus of proof is always on the men, not women who have been painted by feminists as saints.
There have even been wives beating husbands merely because the women, often independent income-earning professionals exposed to extreme feminist ideas, suspect their husbands to have affairs with their female bosses or colleagues. Some blame their husbands for not earning more than the husbands of their (wives') female friends, neighbours or colleagues.
The whole point is that we must not prejudge men merely on the stereotypes propagated by some extreme or immature feminists.
Men and women are supposed to complement each other to build harmonious and co-operative families, but not to constantly engage in the "women versus men" ideological wars which would only destabilise, disrupt and even destroy families.
In this age of globalisation and fast changes, harmonious, loving and co-operative families based on mutually agreed division of labour are, besides religions, bastions against psychological disorientation, alienation and loneliness.
Family love and mutual respect are based on mutual understanding, tolerance and give-and-take. Any politically rigid, legalistic or ideological feminism only serves to create more contrived anger, hatred and suspicion between men and women, husbands and wives.
The best way to preserve harmonious and co-operative families is for everyone to be guided in their relationships as husbands and wives by religious or cultural values they cherish. Happiness is subjective and private. Outsiders should not impose their standard of happiness unto every family and married couple.
I hope this letter would serve to counter-balance feminist extremism whose ideas have caused many broken families and unloved children and youths in the streets.
