Islamic law is human logic
If the PAS MP, Mahfuz Omar, would present his case in a logical form and did not protest EPF's investment in tobacco, gaming and alcohol industries simply because it is unIslamic, the non-Muslims would not jump on the bandwagon and defend it as if smoking, gambling and drinking are their culture.
Islamic law is an alternative to the British law which is what our current law is mostly based on. In order for the citizens, Muslims and non-Muslims, to accept it, it has to be presented as the better alternative. This can be achieved by appealing to human logic and not by stressing on 'blind' beliefs.
I strongly feel if Islamic law is called by any other name, both parties, the promoter and the people who will consider it, will enter into discussions that will lead us to improve the failures of our current system and enhance the quality of our society.
