With regard to the controversial booklet published by the Information Ministry entitled Malaysia adalah sebuah negara Islam, I think the government should not be let off the hook so easily even though the booklet has been withdrawn.

Many questions come to mind when a booklet about Malaysia as an Islamic state is printed, using taxpayers' money, and then withdrawn.

So is Malaysia an Islamic state? How do non-Muslims fit into the whole scheme of things? What are the relevant policies and plans that were mentioned? I think somebody has a lot of explaining to do and the government should not be allowed to just withdraw the printed material just like that.

I think a lot of money has been spent and somebody must explain! Do we have that much money to throw around?
