Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin ibni A-Marhum Sultan Mahmud of Terengganu may have been trained in the army ('The Kings' choice',Dec 3), but was he ever commissioned in our armed forces?

Raja Syed Sirajuddin ibni al-Marhum Syed Putra Jamalullail, the Raja of Perlis, was trained in Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. And he served the Malaysian Armed Forces for several years, including a stint in Sarawak during the immediate post-Konfrontasi and pre-Sri Aman years. His consort is an elegant princess from Kelantan.

So let the rulers decide who should appropriately be our next paramount ruler.
