The Kings choice
As a Malaysian and a Malay, it is my fervent hope that the next Yang Di Pertuan Agong would be Sultan Mirzan of Terengganu, because his youthfulness (38) and educated intelligence would enhance the image of Malaysia in the eyes of the world.
His Majesty was educated in Australia and received military training in the United States of America. Malaysians would feel proud to have him as King. And as King, he would equal Sultan Qaboos of Oman who was educated in the famous British Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
Sultan Mizan's elevation as King would show the world that ours is a society ruled by an open-minded man who is respected by all races. This augurs well for our relations with the Western and Arabic world.
As King, Sultan Mizan will also be the Supreme Commander of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). This would be a morale booster for our armed forces.
The final decision rests with the Conference of Rulers, but this humble subject would like to make known the feeling and aspiration of younger Malaysians and Malays, so that His Majesties could make a wise decision.
Ampun Tuanku, beibu-ribu ampun; sembah patik harap diambun.
