The Legal Profession Qualifying Board members "found a substantial number of irregularities, between the marks awarded by the examiners and the marks disclosed by the director to the members of the board, in the master results sheets submitted for their approval".

Why the discrepancy? In this statement, lies the pivotal point, from which criminal investigation by police and the Anti-Corruption Agency should start. How long has this been going on? How many of those who passed CLP in the past did so with their marks re-adjusted? And how many who passed had their marks readjusted below the passing marks?

What is to stop those who have failed in the past from requesting for an investigation into such discrepancies and shenanigans?

Is there no mechanism of checks and balances to prevent such discrepancy from recurring?

The Qualifying Board, too, cannot be absolved from all blame for not putting in safeguards and allowing the process to be abused.
