Now that Parti Bersatu Sabah has submitted its application to rejoin the Barisan Nasional, the next question is whether it should be accepted back in by all the component parties of the ruling coalition.

There are reasons that speak against this: First, how can BN trust PBS again, especially when Umno and MCA are both extremely weak at the moment?

Second, the re-entry will cause some sacrifice on the part of Umno and other existing component parties in terms of allocation of seats as well as government position. Who or which parties in the front would give up some seats and positions to PBS?

Thus, if the BN is not careful, the re-entry of PBS would destabilise it at the state level, causing more problems for the ruling party in the next elections.
