Inflammatory and uninformed reply
1) "The US is referred to as the 'Great Satan' because it is the only country in the world to have used nuclear weapons against a civilian population. Muslims believe that the US will not hesitate to use them on the entire Muslim population when the Muslim world finally does unite to end US oppression of the poor and weak of the world."
The use of nuclear weapons on Japan has been debated for decades. Some argue that it actually saved lives by ending a terrible war faster. Although this does not justify the usage, it should be noted that the US was fighting a two-front war that was initiated by Japan and Germany. The Japanese were notorious for their rape, torture, and killing of civilians in China, Korea, and Malaysia.
However, I believe that the Untied States and the world learnt from the terrible destructive power of nuclear weapons and that the US would not use them unless attacked in a similar fashion. It is absolutely unsupported that the US has any type of master plan to turn nuclear weapons against the Muslim population. This is an unsubstantiated and callous accusation.
2) "The US agreed to a Palestinian state only to appease the Arab world population fearing that their Western puppets, e.g., in Saudi Arabia, might be overthrown and their dominance over world oil supplies ended. However, in the last 50 years, Israel has managed to displace six million Palestinians and build massive settlements for Jews immigrating from Russia, US and Europe. This proves that the US had lied about its intentions."
Remember that Jews had been migrating to Palestine since the 1800s. After WWI and the collapse of the Ottoman empire, Britain (not the US) started formation of an Israeli state. The US was forced to get involved after WWII. Many Jews migrated to Israel after the holocaust. Arabs resented this and fought many battles against Israel. The US defended the UN-mandated action and helped arm Israel to defend the country.
I do not agree with the increased settlements in Israel but I do not believe it is fair to say that the US has lied and should bear the whole responsibility for the Palestinian problem.
3) "The US is 'helping' the Albanian Muslims to prevent an escalation of the conflict. The Albanian Muslims have agreed to end their armed struggle in return for the right to speak their language and to practise their religion. The US opposes any independence for Kosovo because of the US' anti-Islam agenda."
How can you say that the US has an anti-Islam agenda when they risked their own soldiers to defeat the Serbs? It should be noted that the majority of Serbs whom the US fought against are Orthodox Christians. If the US really had an 'anti-Islam' agenda wouldn't they have either (a) not intervened to help Kosovo or (b) not fought against the Serbs? Why would the US fight for those that they have "an agenda" against?
4) "The corrupt monarchies in the Middle East were put there by the US, Britain and its Christian European allies. Osama bin Laden wants to put an end to these 'puppets' of the Christians and Jews."
There are certainly some corrupt monarchies in the Middle East and the West is partly to blame. But look at the Taliban, who watched as one-fourth of their population and Muslim brothers and sisters starve to death as they refuse help from humanitarian workers. Look at Saddam Hussein, who used mustard gas on his own people. Look at Iran and Iraq that fought and killed their Muslim brethren for nearly a decade. It is not just the monarchies that are a problem in the Middle East.
5) "If Hitler had won World War II, Israel would not exist now and the Muslim world would still be united because there would be no 'divide and rule' policy imposed by the US and Britain upon Muslims."
This is a horrific statement. If Hitler had won, then all Muslims would be oppressed or dead right now. Hitler believed that religion and socialism could not exist together. Sure there would have been no 'divide and rule' policy, because Hitler would have ruled everything with a brute force. Although the 'divide and rule' policy was not sound, the alternative of Hitler ruling is much costlier for mankind.
6) "The Muslim world is strewn with good-for-nothing leaders who do not have the support of their Muslim populations. Even in Malaysia, despite Umno only winning 30 percent of the Muslim vote, Muslims in Malaysia are forced to accept Dr Mahathir Mohamad as their prime minister. In nearly all Muslim countries, Islamic-based parties are banned and its members jailed for being 'terrorists'. Even the people of Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of our prophet, Muhammad SAW, cannot choose their leader and are forced to have a Western puppet protected by US soldiers stationed there."
I agree that the Muslim world is strewn with poor leaders, but this is not all the Western world's fault. When was the last free election in Iraq or Afghanistan? These are clearly poor leaders that are not supported by the West.
It is easy to blame the US and Western policy for everything, just as some people unthinkingly associate Islam with terrorists. Certainly, the US is flawed, but it cannot be held responsible for all the problems in the world. It is time for countries and their leaders to look within and accept responsibility for their actions and truly lead their people.
