I am very impressed by your columnist Dr Farish Noor who has the remarkable ability of also writing regularly in the New Straits Times. I think this is due to his intellectual depth that no one in the government or the opposition could rival. All Malaysians must feel proud of that.

However, I would also like to hear from Farish his views and opinions on the performance of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. There is now a widespread perception in the Chinese community that the DPM is controlled by the police, not vice versa. Is it correct?

Also, I would like to hear from him what kind of Islam justifies detention without trial for an indefinite period of time, torture, forced confession and spraying chemicals onto peaceful crowds?

I hope I am not disappointed.
