Dear YB Manikavasagam,

At the onset, let us say that we are shocked by your recent decision to consider leaving PKR. Now let me clarify before you think I am from the party - I am non-partisan and have no party affiliations, but am one with a conscience.

I applaud you for your noble deed in wanting to resign, however, we ask you to consider this - can you still work for the people of Kapar and the people's cause by leaving the party and resigning from your post of MP?

Did we, the rakyat, expect you to perform miracles overnight for us? No, we expected you to face difficulties and problems and solve them standing up like a man. With your threatened resignation, we see you giving up and opening up yourself to be called a traitor.

Please note that you cannot work for the rakyat by leaving the party. If anything, your reasons were very flimsy when you say that there is infighting and you are not getting support from your menteri besar. You should know that almost every political party in Malaysia is now experiencing infighting, which planet are you from?

Your newly appointed MB has many things on his plate. Perhaps rather than threatening to resign, you and the other MPs should discuss the problems together and approach him.

You also talked about not getting support when you are criticised. Com on. why do you need the support of others? Surely if you have the calibre, you can defend yourself so why do you need support from others? If you are being criticised on personal grounds, be a man and defend yourself.

You more than any one, should not expect change to happen overnight. You are not alone for we also see Penang, Selangor and the other opposition states struggling. But in their struggle for change, we see strength and we applaud their fortitude and their bravery in standing up for what they believe in against a system that has been entrenched for more than 50 years.

There are other ways and means of getting people to hear your opinions. Gather together the other MPs in PKR and surely you will realise that they, too, have similar problems. So brainstorm and arrive at a workable solution.

By resigning, we the rakyat, and I am sure even your people in Kapar, will regret that they had voted, for a spineless person like you. By resigning, you are behaving immaturely to say the least. You do not show the strength and character that we hoped and expected from you.

Now you may be labelled a half-traitor because you threatened to abandon a ship that has just begun sailing. You wanted to jump off and not give your support when the crew needed it the most. Furthermore not just you, but all Indians stand to be labelled as half-traitors by that immature move that you made.

For the sake of the community and the rakyat, we ask you to stay with the party, the platform on which you were voted in for. Work the best you can for the people in your constituency and if you are still not happy, at the next election, be free to stand on which ever platform you are comfortable with and lets see whether you get elected. We will also see then, if you can perform.

Stop your tantrums and get back to work in a professional and ethical manner, one that is expected of an MP of your stature.
