I believe that the attacks by the western countries upon Afghanistan is indeed an attack on Islam. While British planes were bombing Afghanistan last week, the "new IRA" did launch a terrorist attack against British targets.

Yet this incident was given little prominence and importance despite the large number of human life lost in this terrorist attack. Why is the Prime Minister of Great Britain disinterested in the terrorist attacks in his own country and more eager in joining the US in bombing Afghanistan?

The US-British coalition is boasting that it is not targeting human life but only the infrastructure. The US-British planes have claimed to have destroyed the water and electricity supplies in Afghanistan. They say they have destroyed airports, communications facilities and the fuel depots in Afghanistan.

So, what is to become of the Afghanistan civilians in the coming winter months without fuel or electricity to warm themselves? What are they supposed to drink? Even the UNHCR has criticised the US food drops as being ineffective and pretentious. Worse of all, the bombings prevent the UNHCR staff from carrying out its genuine humanitarian food distribution programs.

Mortality rates are highest here in the world as most of the babies born never make it to adulthood. Muslims all over the world must voice their objections against the US' cruelty in Afghanistan in the most vocal manner possible. We must make ourselves heard. This indeed is a war against Islam.
