I would like to point out a serious error by Chee Hon's 'What would you do to defend your child?' (Oct 10). To make an analogy between an intruder and Afghanistan is seriously flawed.

In your case, your intruder and you might as well kill him but in this case, the intruders died and we don't know who has beaten up your child. We can't simply run out of the house and find anybody that fits your description of a potential attacker and blame him. This is what America is doing, running out and pointing fingers without evidence.

I have read the evidence dossier which was prepared by the British government and presented by the British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The alleged irrefutable proof is simply rehashed by old stories padded up with extreme conjecture and laced with "believe us, we are the government".

Dropping 37,500 packets of MRE's (single meal ready to eat) in the countryside littered with tens of thousands of mines for 4,000,000 displaced Afghans while bombing them to submission is pure farce.

Japan and Nazi Germany waged a full scale war with announced intentions to subdue and conquer. The Pashtun, Tajiks, Hazara and Uzbeks of Afghanistan never proclaimed war with America. It is America who waged war against them.
