Undoubtedly, it's a strange world that we live in. It takes 5,000 Americans to die so that the whole world is shaken, and millions, if not billions, to mourn their death. And the whole world stands up to fight the enemy of a civilisation represented by the US.

But one and a half million of people dying because of America's terror embargo on Iraq was not enough to make even some people shed a few drops of tears.

Who on earth frowns when he knows that the Iraqi people, once famous of their wealth, have become scattered around the world begging for food under Saddam Hussein's rule; and who really cares about the seven million Palestinians who lost their homes and land because of the Jews that were brought to Palestine and supported by the leader of the free world (US)?

Why does the death of few thousands of Americans seem like the end of the world while the death and suffering of millions of Third World people are not much different from the death of a fly?

The English proverb confirms that when you kill a tiger you call it 'sport' and when the tiger kills you, you call it 'ferocity'. However, most victims of US foreign policies are toothless babies.

Indeed, there has been a great outburst as a result of the killing of the few thousands of Americans. If the same outburst had occurred when millions of innocent civilians from the Third World were killed, America's intolerance and terrorism would have stopped and consequently no revenge would have been sought. Such attacks would have never taken place simply because there would not be any reason for them.
