I would like to refer 'Battlefield of two visions' (Oct 13) by Jeffery. In his enthusiasm to assuage the so-called "rational tyrant", the writer lambasted "a political party", insinuating Islam, which I find it provocative. He has no guts to name that political party let alone make a balanced and sensible claim.

The leaders of that political party inferred to by the writer, has time and again condemned terrorism and denounced militancy in whatever form. And since police investigations are ongoing, there is todate no suspected link between that 'unnamed' political party and the so-called KMM (Malaysian Mujahideen Group), so how sure are we that the KMM was responsible for "a spate of bank robberies, the bombing of a church and a temple and the murder of a BN representative"? Have all these allegations been proven in any court of law in this country?

In a multiracial and multireligious society, we should try to understand and respect each other's beliefs rather than make sweeping and prejudiced exhortations that could lead to unsettling social feelings.
