In President Bush's own words, Osama bin Laden is 'the prime suspect' in the recent attacks on World Trade Center and Pentagon. Through CNN, I saw posters being distributed in America, hunting for the head of this prime suspect - dead or alive!

Sadly, when people ask for proof, the American government becomes evasive. Ordinary people like me whose only interest is to see justice is done to all quarters, needs to be convinced that the so-called prime suspect is actually the real culprit.

America has in the past made wrong judgments (and deceiving the world at the same time) in dealing with matters like this. In 1986, President Reagan attacked Tripoli, killing several people.

At that time, Reagan claimed that he has 'irrefutable proof' that the bombing of a night club in Berlin, killing some American soldiers was carried out by Libyan secret agents. Unfortunately, it was found out later on that the so-called 'irrefutable proof ' was actually false.

The bomber was arrested and found guilty by the German court, and there is no trace of any Libyan connection. A 100 percent margin of error on the American side, but not before several people were killed in the process.

Quite recently, the World Court dealt another blow to the Anglo-Saxon countries when one of 'the two prime suspects' was found not guilty for the Lockerbee bombing. This thing happened despite another 'irrefutable proof ' by the two governments, leading to almost a total economic blockade by the United Nations. This is 50 percent margin of error on the Anglo-Saxon part.

Having these 'false proofs' as a backdrop which shows how reckless the American government can be in presenting its case to the world, I am very worried that 'the prime suspect' may not be the terrorist that America is hunting for after all.

Indeed I squarely deplore the attacks on America and regret the loss of lives, but at the same time the American government should exercise refrain and ensure that it does not repeat past mistakes, because it will cost more innocent lives to perish.
