I refer to the Malaysiakini report No need for a mediator, says Soi Lek.

I say no need for a MCA, even. The perceived representation MCA has for the Chinese community is flawed. Has anyone taken a poll on the street lately?

It is in self-denial and thinks that it’s business as usual. And if it waits long enough, people will forget and we can all go back to what it was doing before. Everything for themselves and nothing for the real Chinese people.

If Ong Tee Keat has no guts to openly state what he is doing to Soi Lek - which is rather obvious to all of us - he is insulting our intelligence.

How can we respect someone who treats us like that? I am not particularly fond of Soi Lek either because he has not come out with a really bold platform for change. But still, he was elected to the party’s deputy presidency by MCA members.

Tee Keat needs to respect and acknowledge that. Perhaps Soi Lek should leave with his supporters and start an independent party. The corruption and greed for power in MCA is a baggage he can sure do without to start anew.

Those in politics know what is really going on inside the government. Will someone who doesn't think of himself and his supporters only, show up and truly represent Malaysians?

Having previously lived in the US. for eight years and having observed American and our local politics, I cringe with shame at the quality of the people we have here in politics.

The stupid things I read of in the papers these days on what the ministers say are shameful to say the least. Malu lah kita, people of Malaysia!

We have a beautiful country and mostly wonderful people who are generally and culturally apathetic. Sigh.

Will the silent majority finally come out in the next general election and ‘enable the change that we need’ (to quote one of Obama's election mantra).

One of my friends sent me this quote during the last election and that should be our mantra for the next three years - ‘Bad officials are elected by good people who don't vote!’
