The attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon has generated diverse opinions regarding causes and what should be done next, as well as a whole gamut of who is right and who is wrong.

Columnists such as MGG Pillai and other letter writers saying that the US has to share some blame have come under fire and there have been some letters advising the editor to censor or not publish such views and opinions of the former. These people have completely missed the point on what malaysiakini is here for.

I am glad that malaysiakini provides a space for all of us to air our views which certainly can be diverse and divergent. We can then sieve through these various views to help us form our opinion of the day.

All said, the victims and the families of the attacks certainly have our sympathies and we all feel that such a horrendous disaster should not have happened and should not be allowed to happen again. That is why we are all giving our two sen's worth in this time of reflection with all our divergent views.
