I totally agree with Kiro Bara on "the loss of human lives who had no say whatsoever about their government's actions in other parts of the world" ('Crumbled buildings housed people, beget orphans', Sept 14).

In this age of instant coverage from CNN and the Internet, we do see the evils of war, i.e. the human cost of it.

Let's not forget that behind each people killed was an individual: someone's parent, sister, brother, son, daughter, grandparent, etc, whose life was cut short suddenly through no fault of theirs.

I am impressed by the heroism and public spirit displayed by the people during and after the attack on the World Trade Center.

I am praying hard that the US government will not rush into any retaliatory action and fall into the trap of escalating conflict.

We cannot fight evil with evil. The majority of the people on this world do not support terrorism. Let's not allow a small group of terrorists spoil our World.
