In response to the letter written by SF 'Does US deserve the attack because of arrogance?' (Sept 13). I believe that Dr N was not seeking a justification. No one can justify such acts. The attack was pure terrorism and must be condemned. All forms of terrorism must be condemned, be they 'sanctioned' or cowardly.

It makes no difference whether these dastardly acts are committed by the US or by Osama bin Laden. If people recognise the recent attacks on the US as terrorism while dismissing other oppressive attacks by other superpowers on helpless people, would that be a fair-minded view? I think not.

Indeed the recent attacks on the US is a heinous act committed by cowards. But while we are so grieved by these attacks, let's not forget to ponder upon why this happened. Because when the oppressed lose their hope, they also lose their faith and sense. Then they become terrorist.

Islam does not condone such horrendous acts of killing people, especially thousands of innocent lives. Those (rich or poor, big country or small country) who commit acts of terrorism must be put to justice.
