Ruling on Nazri's disciplinary action on hold
No decision has been announced on whether Prime Minister’s Nazri Abdul Aziz will be referred to the committee of privileges as the minister was not present in Parliament today.
Deputy Speaker Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar explained that a decision can only be revealed when both Nazri and complainant Bukit Gelugor MP Karpal Singh are in attendance.

Nazri is accompanying Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in an overseas trip to central Asia and is only expected back in the House earliest next Monday. A decision was expected today after DAP’s Karpal asked Dewan Rakyat to take action against the minister for "misleading the House" regarding the status of sacked ex-judges in the 1988 judicial crisis. However Wan Junaidi disclosed that he has investigated the matter and was prepared to rule on it. "Just like in Canada, India and the United Kingdom (Parliaments), when such matters are brought up, both parties need to be in the House for further action to take place," Wan Junaidi said. Female exploitation claim deflected According to Chor, law enforcement agencies are monitoring for any such behaviour in areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Water, Energy and Communication Ministry. In relations to Astro, he said the paid-satellite TV provider is exercising self-censorship. The country’s only satellite TV had to agree to terms set by the government before receiving its operating licence. "However, for exploitation of women issues in sports, this falls under the jurisdiction of Youth and Sports Ministry and as far as I am concerned, the ministry has been keeping close watch on the matter," said the Alor Star MP. He assured that if it happens in local advertisements or TV shows, the Film Censorship Board would have snipped the scenes. "If it is really bad, the board will not give approval for the show to be aired," said Chor.

When prodded by Karpal for a firm announcement dated, the deputy speaker replied: "I have discussed with the House secretary and we will fix a date next week, and a place which I will include in a notice." 
Meanwhile, Deputy Home Minister Chor Chee Heung rejected Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud’s (PAS-Kota Raja) claim that women were exploited through their portrayal as sex objects in local advertisements.
