I am still in a state of shock 24 hours after the monstrosity of the attack on the World Trade Center. The combination of suicide in the name of martyrdom, hijacking, murder and property destruction designed to create fear to justify revenge are despicable acts.

Kuala Lumpur could be the next target and if the Petronas twin towers were to be destroyed this way, how would we feel if the world asked what we had done to bring about such a tragedy? Many such questions were posed by our local leaders who seem to find fault in American foreign policy in such tragic times.

Violence begets violence and the Sikh separatist movement is one example. Violence could not form the state of Khalistan despite eight years of terror. Everyone was a loser; the Golden Temple in Amritsar was violated, Indira Gandhi was assassinated, thousands were killed in ethnic backlash and today the mistrust still exists.

The sight of people rejoicing in the carnage and death are equally despicable. We should be mourning that humankind has become so self-destructive that we are destroying God's creations. No religion teaches us to kill each other, except the devil himself.

If it is true we are all descendants of Adam and Eve, then why are we killing our brothers and sisters?
