The Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) is investigating nine cases of alleged money politics involving Umno politicians in Kedah.
The cases are related to the Umno divisional elections in the state.
According to

, Kedah ACA director Nooraziah Abdul Manaf said investigations commenced after the agency received reports from Umno delegates after the divisional meetings last month.
"ACA investigates all cases with corrupt elements but in cases involving Umno politics, we find it hard to act as the complainants do not want to cooperate," she said.
Vote-buying has plagued the party for many party elections, and numerous members including leaders like Foreign Minister Dr Rais Yatim have come out strongly against this practice.
Probe on GLCs
Meanwhile, Nooraziah also revealed that Kedah ACA conducted an investigation on several government-linked companies (GLC) after Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak exposed corruption in September and also last week.
She said investigation on the GLCs was running smoothy and showed positive development.
"We do not coax the complainants or witnesses and it is up to them whether to make statements or not. That is why some cases can be solved quickly while others take years," she added.
Nooraziah said the first 10 months saw 28 people detained based on 736 leads compared to 23 detained and 739 leads over the corresponding period last year.
Of the 736 leads, only 423 leads had corrupt elements, leading to the opening of 51 cases and seizure of RM8,775.
