The recent debate on meritocracy especially centred on the education field has generated much public attention, with UiTM, MCA's Utar, and the planned MIC medical college being touted as the right foundation to provide more educational opportunities.

But did anyone realise that this will increase racial polarisation? From the start, the political parties have been aligned to racial domains and this is wrong. This was what Onn Jaafar (founder of Umno) was fighting against. He was a real Malaysian with a Malaysian dream.

I wonder, is there a need in the future for a healthcare or business economy divided along racial lines as well?

I am sure there is a better solution to establishing a meritocractic education system if we care to find one.
