I would like to refer to the comments of Arbibi Ashoy ('Focus on vital aspects of Islam', Aug 20) about concentrating on 'vital' matters first and leaving 'petty' matters like veiling last. As a practising Muslim, I would like to clarify that in Islam, the Quran and the Hadith are both important.

The Hadith is our source of reference and in most cases it explains further what is to be done by Muslims, i.e. there is no mention of how followers perform their five time daily prayers in the Quran but the Hadith describes how it is to be done clearly.

The Hadith are words from Prophet Muhammad .... the best role model for Muslims to emulate in order to get success both in this world and the hereafter. If a Muslim takes the Hadith lightly and refers it as only a small unimportant matter that he or she can disregard, then who is the role model for him or her?

The Quran states Muhammad is the role model for all humans to follow.
