In response to Amina ('SIS' struggle reduced to matters of the veil', Aug 15), I would like to point out that we should take Islam as a whole.

We cannot under any circumstances interpret Islam in parts. Because when we do, we will make mistakes, and some of which will go against the teachings of Islam.

The reason I highlighted the veil issue is because it seems to me that Sisters in Islam are taking Islam in parts - those that serve it better - instead of trying to make itself serve Islam better.

And for me this is morally wrong in Islam. This is meant as a wake-up call for SIS to cater to Islam and not make Islam cater to it.
