Why I support the government
In Kelantan, life goes on as usual every day for the Chinese there. Chinese primary and secondary schools obtain financial aid from the state government. People are allowed to practise their religions freely.
Every year in Kampong Cina, MCA and Chinese leaders gather to celebrate the Mooncake festival. The Largest Reclining Buddha Statue in Southeast Asia is well preserved and located in Tumpat. Beer and hard liquor are aplenty in Chinese and non-Muslim restaurants. Deserving Chinese and Indian students usually obtain scholarships or loans from the state government.
Foreign tourists from the US, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Taiwan enjoy themselves here. My family voted for PAS in the last general elections. There are also Chinese leaders in PAS. So what is the problem with a PAS government?
As for the prospect of an Islamic state, I think the Chinese in the west coast are simply too paranoid. So I really do not understand what the problem is with the newspapers and DAP? For the Chinese in the west coast who fear PAS, please visit us in Kelantan and Terengganu, and enjoy whatever you have in Penang, Ipoh or Kuala Lumpur- alcohol, non-halal meat soups, roti canai, hokkien fried noddles and so on.
By the way, like Muslims, I do not consume alcohol at all. Also, while the Muslims don't eat pork, I don't eat any meat at all. I am a Buddhist. I am stricter in life than Muslims. That is why I support the government - the PAS government in Kelantan.
