In reference to your report 'Annuity scheme agents took RM110,000 from EPF contributions: doctor'( Aug 10), we wish to inform you that the matter has been settled.

We have made a full refund to the doctor's EPF account. We have also communicated with the doctor and have formally advised her in letter about the refund.

In addition, we are waiving the seven percent cancellation fee because her policy was cancelled within the free-look period.

We truly apologise for all the inconvenience caused. Internally, we are investigating this case and would like to ensure you that necessary actions will be taken if the allegations are true.
