The goose, the gander and the ISA
For what crime he was held in the first place, we may never know, but once the police have concluded the investigations and chose to release him, should he not be entitled to an apology for the mistake, and all concerned take steps to ease his transition back to his normal existence?
The logic of these events derails my train of thought. Obviously, I am not one with the laws which govern local students and neither the good vice-chancellor of UM. This story reminds me of a Malay proverb about someone falling down and a ladder that added to his misfortune (Sudah jatuh ditimpa tangga).
Another thing that also stresses my mind occasionally is why all Kelab Umno members' e-mail addresses published on the web have domain names belonging to foreign universities.
I assume the logic here is that only intelligent students qualify to go overseas and naturally are smart enough to indulge in politics and hence differentiate between what is the truth and what the opposition parties say.
