Many peoples of the world are facing problems and differences in opinion about how their respective countries should be governed.

Malaysia is no different. There are too many factions, too much corruption, abuse of power, selfish politicians, business people, private individuals, so much so that now the overall well-being of the country we love is at stake.

Let us look back at Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. He stepped down as a prime minister to prevent things from getting worse, and to rebuild the country anew.

Can Dr Mahathir Mohamad do the same? Let the government and the country make him senior minister and adviser. And let's give him and all concerned immunity from prosecution for acting in the interest of the country.

Let us heal all the wounds of the past few years and start afresh, putting the nation's interest first and self interest last.

Let Umno and Barisan Nasional elect new leaders who are clean and patriots, and who can heal the divided people. A new finance minister is needed, one who can save the country from spiralling into further debts and a collapse of the economy and all that Dr Mahathir and leaders of the past have so bravely and wisely built up.

We can begin this healing process by giving pardon to all political detainees.

Let the healing begin from the great man himself...
