20 MPs swear loyalty to BN

The season of swearing was extended today when 20 BN parliamentarians followed the trend.

At a hotel in Seberang Jaya this afternoon, Barisan Nasional Youth chief Hishammuddin Hussein led the MPs in an oath-taking ceremony.
Hishammuddin, who is also the education minister, said the pledge was a sign of loyalty to the BN alliance.
"We've all signed the declaration and swore to remain loyal to Barisan Nasional. This is black and white proof to counter rumours that we will leave BN for another party," said the Umno Youth chief.
Prior to this PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim alleged that BN MPs will leave the coalition to join the opposition so that they can form the next federal government on Sept 16.
The loyalty pledge was read out by Petra Jaya MP Fadillah Yusof.
However only 10 of the 20 MPs attended the ceremony.
The 20 MPs were Mukhriz Mahathir (Jerlun), Shamsul Anuar Nasarah (Lenggong), Mohd Nizar Zakaria (Parit), Khairy Jamaluddin (Rembau), Idris Haron (Tangga Batu), Razali Ibrahim (Muar), Hishammuddin Hussein (Sembrong), Abdul Rahman Dahlan (Kota Belud), Raimie Unggi (Tenom), Salleh Kalbi (Silam), Liow Tiong Lai (Bentong), Dr Wee Ka Siong (Ayer Hitam), Hou Kok Chung (Kluang), Wee Jeck Seng (Tanjong Piai), Liang Teck Meng (Simpang Renggam), Fadillah Yusof (Petra Jaya), Sulaiman Abdul Rahman (Kota Samarahan), Hasbi Habibollah (Limbang), Tiong King Sing (Bintulu) and Chua Tee Yong (Labis).
Commenting on the polling day on Tuesday, Hishammuddin urged the BN supporters to behave themselves as the whole world will be watching them.
He reminded them not to be provoked by the opposition.
Polling for Permatang Pauh on Tuesday will see a three-corner fight between Umno's Arif Shah Omar Shah, PKR's Anwar Ibrahim and Akim's Hanafi Mamat.
