I know in view of all the terrible things going on in Malaysia, this has little relevance. But I just have to comment on the report 'Award-winning Traffic censored to suit Singapore anti-drug campaign' (July 9). Am I retarded or did I completely not get this movie? Traffic as an anti-drug movie? What bloody movie are they talking about?

Traffic was an affront to the US' anti-drug policy. It strongly leaned towards drug decriminalisation and a change in demand-oriented anti-drug policy.

It was a critical look at the entire justice system towards drugs and federal policies and the bleak realities of it, the truth being, American anti-drug policy does not work, is a waste of money and is completely off target. The truth being, public opinion on soft drugs and experimentation as innocent and harmless is prevalent.

These Singaporean ministers have no idea what the movie was about. In their close-mindedness, they came out with only one obvious conclusion, and not the true message of the movie, at that.

Soderberg must either be mortified or laughing his head off.
