I wish to thank Sheryll Stothard for republishing 'Adventures of a trendy rebel'. Being a self-imposed exile myself, though far less colourful than Isham, I can relate to our starvation for heroes, poets, mavericks and those who search for answers, transparency and justice.

Up until recently, all my idols are from the west. Black 14 changed all that. Idealism that had always burned in souls re-ignited brightly all over again. Ms Stothard put a face to Isham's name and adventures. His story is a morale booster for we Malaysians who are aspiring to attain a free spirit and a creative mind, not "programmed to receive".

I was at a U2 concert in Hartford earlier this month. The song Sunday Bloody Sunday was played, the band claiming it's not a rebel song. Everyone knows it's a white lie.

A pretty blonde girl ran up and down the aisle, holding up an Ireland scarf; everyone was smiling with approval. From the upper balcony, someone threw down an Ireland flag. The singer Bono took his time to straighten the flag and show it off. The crowd cheered loud and hard - justice, peace and love are still popular worldwide.

My eyes welled up, my throat choked. That could be a Malaysian flag and the song could have been 'Black 14'. I joined the crowd in singing the rebel song, on top of my lungs.

The two judges, Mohd Hishamudin Mohd Yunus and Muhammad Kamil Awang, are gutsy characters, adding to the list of colourful rebels. MGG Pillai correctly reflects the mass opinion: Constitution has to be above everything else, as guideline to the govern and those who govern.When can we get our precious "judicial review" back? When can we get our Bill of Rights? Tools to protect citizens from being trampled on.

Thank you Sheryll and malaysiakini, you guys breathe soul into our starving blues.
