I refer to the news entitled 'Mahathir flays election judge' (June 25). What Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad did was really uncalled for. He should have kept the judiciary and administrative matters separate.

One recalled that when the judgment of the jailed ex-deputy PM Anwar Ibrahim was announced, the PM and other cabinet ministers called for the court judgment to be respected, saying that our court is independent and that justice had been done, so on and so forth. Yet now Mahathir is questioning the decision of another judge.

And what about his call to judges who have problems to run to him for help? Doesn't he know that this is interfering with the judiciary? Is he implying that he has had, on occasions before, judges running to him for help? Are Augustine Paul and Ariffin Jaka among them? I wonder...
