Our beloved Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who always has our interests close to his heart, exhorted us to invest in the share market (KLSE) to help out sagging economy. He said to buy and don't sell. This will keep the KLSE share prices and economy up.

Like a fool, I believed him. Not being a rich man, I thought I would buy some cheap Berjaya Group warrants. After all, the company will not go bankrupt since its owner, tycoon Vincent Tan, is one of the PM's closest cronies.

Now Berjaya Group is 're-structuring' and if their proposal goes through, my investment will be reduced to one-tenth of what it was. And that will wipe out almost all my life savings.

Learned punters, tell me, whatever the outcome, I will lose heavily. At over 50 years of age, and facing problems in finding even a low-paying job, I know I will never be able to recover my losses.

Please don't gamble in the KLSE.
