I laughed when I read LY Kim's letter of support for MCA president Dr Ling Liong Sik. ('Back Ling for long-standing contributions', June 18).

If Ling is so sincere and honest as claimed, how is it that until today we are still in the dark as to the status of the Chang Ming Thien Fund. What has happened to it?

Ling deserves our support for setting up the Langkawi Project... so what? Bright students who are high achievers cannot even get a place in the local universities.

On the Damansara school issue, the president was deathly quiet, leaving the fight to the MP for PJ Utara. The president can do better than that and for being silent he deserves no support.

Raising funds for the Nipah victims was a noble act... but how was the disbursement? Some MCA members not affected were beneficiaries of the fund.

TAR College will remain a college, nothing more, while ITM is now a university. Is TAR College of a lower standard than ITM?

I would think that the writer should use better examples of the success of the president. Poor call.
