Police will question opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim tomorrow over allegations of sodomy by his former aide, a senior party official said.

anwar ibrahim and saiful bukhari azlan Anwar has vowed to fight the accusations levelled by 23-year-old Mohamad Saiful Bukhari Azlan, which he says have been fabricated by the government to prevent him from seizing power after landmark March elections.

Mohamad Saiful has been under police protection since accusing Anwar of sodomising him - the same charge that saw the opposition leader jailed a decade ago.

"Anwar has been issued with a summons by the police to be questioned at 2pm on Monday," said Tian Chua, PKR information chief and Batu member of parliament.

It is learnt the Anwar has been told to go to the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters for his statement to be recorded.

The sodomy claim threatens to derail a stunning political comeback by Anwar, who was sacked as deputy premier in 1998 and jailed on sodomy and corruption allegations that he said were politically motivated.

Anwar has said he is poised to seize power from Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi with the help of government defectors, after his opposition alliance claimed one third of parliamentary seats and five states in March elections.

Anwar barred from Parliament

Meanwhile, Anwar has been barred from within 5km radius of the Parliament tomorrow.

The police have today obtained a court order to arrest Anwar and his supporters if they are spotted in the vicinity of the parliament.

Anwar has expressed his intention to visit Parliament tomorrow to hear the no-confidence debate against Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

However, it is likely that the House speaker could shoot down the opposition Pakatan Rakyat's motion for the debate which was filed last Friday.
