EC boss a genuine professional

I refer to Juli Ooi's "Don't blame others for shortcomings"(June 15). So that we all may know the truth, here's what I have to say. The incumbent chairman of the Elections Commission (EC) has been a genuine professional in the civil service.
During his terms, repeat terms, as secretary-general of the EC, there were rarely cases of unresolved election irregularities. But when he was transferred out and so stayed for a number of years, complaints transpired.
Now that he is back at his former home ground, I relish in the thought that at last we shall see the required departmental integrity in the EC. I really look forward to casting my vote with more innate commitment in the next general elections.
