‘Puteri Reformasi’ Nurul Izzah Anwar said today that she was fed up with the latest accusation against her father, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

"I'm fed up with it. For 10 years we have been forced to live with such a slanderous accusation against him," Bernama quoted her as saying at the 25th anniversary of the Saidina Abu Bakkar As-Siddiq Mosque in Bangsar.

Nurul who is Lembah Pantai member of parliament, however, said it would not distract her from fulfilling her responsibilities to her constituents.

Nurul Izzah also said she was leaving the matter to the authorities and hoped that the investigations would be conducted in a thorough and fair manner.

Anwar is facing a fresh allegation of sodomy when a former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, 23, lodged a police report on June 28, alleging that the former deputy prime minister had sodomised him.

To that question, the loyal daughter bravely came to her father’s defence declaring that what happened 10 years ago were trumped-up charges to plot the downfall of her father.

Anwar was sacked as deputy prime minister in 1998 over allegations of corruption and sodomy. He served six years in jail but the sodomy charges were later overturned.
